What is periodontology ?

Periodontitis or gum disease is an inflammation of the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth. 
That is to say, the gums and further still , the bone. It is caused by specific bacteria that creates plaque and then tartar.

In the long term, it is a cause for tooth decay.
